Yes. Browsing and searching listings is completely free for students, and posting a listing is free for landlords during our launch period. Optional premium visibility packages will be introduced later.

How do I verify a landlord?

Check their profile and how long they have been a member, always view the property in person or via a live video call, and never pay anything before signing a written agreement. Keep every conversation inside Roomtastic so there is a record.

What should I do if a listing looks fake?

Use the Report button on the listing page, or contact us directly. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours and removes fraudulent listings immediately.

How do payments work?

Roomtastic never processes or holds rental payments. Rent, deposits and tenancy agreements are arranged directly between the student and the landlord — always after a viewing and a signed written agreement.

How long does a listing stay online?

Approved listings stay live for 60 days. Landlords get an email and an in-app reminder before expiry and can renew a listing with one click from their dashboard.

Are all listings verified?

Every listing is manually reviewed before publication. We check completeness, accuracy and signs of fraud — but we always recommend following our safety guidelines regardless.

Can I stay anonymous when contacting a landlord?

Yes. Messages are sent through Roomtastic's internal messaging system and your email address is never shared unless you choose to include it in a message.
